Carlos “El Loco” Bedoya

About Me Loco Bedoya

4-time Grammy award winning mixer, producer and engineer Carlos “El Loco” Bedoya  is known for his work with Missy Elliott, Beyoncé, Weezer, Ricardo Arjona, Daddy Yankee, Mauro Castillo, Mick Jagger and Polo G from a constellation of extremely talented worldwide stars.

His musical studies began before he even started to read in Colombia, where he later became a recognized pianist and keyboardist that had to sneak into bars to perform. Curiosity got the better and worse of him and quickly delved into the murky technological waters of engineering and production in order to achieve the sounds he was chasing, wrestling the natural limitations of his home country. The age of dial-up internet couldn’t come fast enough and soon he became a well known character among producers, engineers and audio companies in the United States and Europe. That’s when he got recruited by South Beach Studios in Miami Beach to get in charge of their new all-digital Room B at the turn of the century.

There’s where he forged his sound, sharing and absorbing knowledge with Studio-A’s Tom Lord Alge and Studio-C’s Cesar Sogbe right at the steepest slope of the digital revolution. That gave him the opportunity to end in the same room with giants like Semisonic, Mick Jagger, Beyoncé, Enrique Iglesias, Weezer, Scott Storch, Whitney, Tweet, Chayanne, Paulina, Daddy Yankee, Sean Paul and Missy Elliot, with whom El Loco worked on her last 3 albums and countless platinum records for other artists for years to come.

From there it was a matter of a short time before El Loco started getting regularly called by other studios in town like The Setai and The Hit Factory / Criteria where he met and started working with Ricardo Arjona to this day, followed by being flown to the other major production cities in the country and all over the world for production, songwriting, mixing and to be featured on magistral conferences for him to share his extensive growing knowledge.

Along with his extensive background in common record production, El Loco has also been involved in many film, live and immersive projects through his 30+ year career. He is currently heavily involved in the production of Atmos masters for major artists like Kip Moore, Tory Lanez and Ariana Grande.
